I racked my brain to come up with teacher gifts this year. Usually I knit, but I already knitted wristies for the teachers this year for Christmas. Last year I made tote bags. Their teachers are 20+ year veterans so I know they've gotten every present under the sun, and my son's teacher has specifically asked for no purchased presents. I did some quick online research and decided to make quilted games for their classrooms. We live in the frozen north so the kids spend a lot of recesses inside and they need stuff to do.
This is the gift for my daughter's kindergarten teacher. It's about 30" square. I'm making 10 little bean bags (5 yellow, 5 blue) to use for the Xs and Os. This could also be a "toss" game where you have to toss the bags onto a specific square. I'm also sewing a little drawstring bag to hold all of it.
I really stink at binding though. This was bias cut, and I squared all the sides, and it's still all wonky. :(
